The Lost Boy
Kyle hugs on to his teddy bear dearly. He removes the thumb from his mouth and bursts into tears, “Mummy! Where are you?” Strange stares and fingers pointing in every direction scares him. Two gentle arms embraces him from behind and Johnny feels that he is safe and sound again.
A New Beginning
Esther anticipates the plane’s take off. She knows that she will not find happiness unless she leaves. She prays hard, and whispers to herself that everything will start anew once the plane lands. A brand new life miles and miles away from her dysfunctional family. All will be fine soon.
Rescued
Torchlights blind Jack’s face as he opens his eyes. “Man, you’re alive!” they scream. He asks for water, after being left to starve by the kidnappers. “You should be glad that they decided to flee with the money instead of murdering you.” and Jack knows that much better than him.

The old photograph brings back memories she treasures. The car accident left no one surviving but her. Why is she the chosen one to suffer? The sorrow each day takes her breadth away, but Rosanna knows that she is going to live her life to the fullest, no matter what.
Your stories, although following the parameters of the assignment well, are lacking a certain element that makes them interesting. Would be good to try some more adventurous or even risky material – that’ll really make your writing shine.
